The manor
A place restored for play and rest
First named in the Danish Census Book around 1220, the village of Nabala has watched centuries pass; the manor itself appears in a 1475 deed, and by 1631 its lands helped endow the school that became Tallinn’s Gustav Adolf Grammar School.
The main house and gardens have now come through a thorough restoration. What was a working estate is once again a place to gather — golf croquet on the manor lawn, tennis on an all-weather court.
Twenty-odd kilometres from Tallinn, it is close enough for an afternoon and far enough to feel like a proper escape — with family, a few friends, or colleagues, over a forgotten old game in the fresh air.
The lawn and the court
Two ways to play at the manor.
